Bring a Friend Night at SURGE

Sunday night was "Bring a Friend Night" at SURGE. We had three students attend for the first time!!!
We had a "super star" among us:

We had a root beer chugging contest:

Next we played "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe." The students had to find their shoes while blind-folded.

We then played a game called "Family Portrait." Groups took turns posing while an opposing team studied them. The observing team then had to recreate the pose as best as they could.

Of course, you can't have a special youth event without pizza:

And of course, I can't do it alone! Thank God for the other youth leaders that help in our student ministry!

New sound booth!!!

Thanks to the hard work of Phil & Scott and the support of all my ministry partners, we have a new sound booth at church!!! We are so excited to have a place for the technical equipment that is out of the way and somewhat secure. Last Sunday was our first Sunday with most of the new equipment. I noticed an immediate improvement. There are still a few bugs to be worked out. Thank you to everyone of our ministry partners to help make this possible. And thanks to Phil & Scott for their carpentry skills that provided this awesome booth for us.

Part of the new system includes a transmitter and headsets for our Spanish ministry. Here Bro Richard & Bro Buddy are assembling the headsets that are worn by our Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters. Bro Buddy and Sis Taffy translate the service into Spanish for those who prefer Spanish. So we can worship with our Spanish-speaking brethren and not be separated from them!!! It's a little taste of Heaven here on Earth!

Youth room

I wanted to share some better pictures of the paint job in the youth room. The previous pictures were taken with my cell phone and the color wasn't very good. This should give you a better sense of what the room looks like. We still have two more sections to do, but it looks much better now!
