Some more snow!

We had some more snow today! It inspired me to worship the Lord for the fact that when we come under the blood of Christ, we are washed white as snow!

(FYI -There's nothing wrong with your computer! There's no sound with the video. I took it with our digital camera & it doesn't have a microphone built in!)

Our current series in SURGE

We're studying absolute truth for the month of January. It's been a great series. I felt impressed to do this series because this generation of students is bombarded with the message, "What's right for you, isn't necessarily right for me." My goal for this series is to give them tools so that when they are faced with choices in life that they can look at the situation and choose the path that the Lord would have them follow, not what everyone else thinks they should do. Tonight's lesson was well attended and they were attentive also. We talked about four steps for following God - 1. Consider the choice 2. Compare it to God 3. Commit to God's way 4. Count on God's protection & provision (from "Setting You Free to Make Right Choices," a workbook by Josh McDowell). Our story came from Genesis 39 where Joseph refuses to give into sin. We saw how Joseph chose what was right. The result may have been immediate pain, but he experienced long-term gain because of his commitment to please God and remain pure. I encourage you to read his story. It's incredible!

Awesome Youth Game!

We did a game tonight where the students had to see who could put on a T-shirt the fastest. Doesn't sound very hard, does it? Well, what if I told you that the T-shirt was frozen?! That's right, frozen! The students did an awesome job at this game! They beat it on the floor and tried to open it by pushing their feet through the openings. Adam even blew on it a little! They were great sports!

Missions' Symposium

It's always great to attend the Missions' Symposium and hear about everything God is doing around the world! This year's theme was Think Globally, Act Locally. I was encouraged and inspired to do my best in 2008 to live every day for the Lord.

Here are all the missions' directors, missionaries and department workers that were in attendance.

As part of the conference, we elected the Hussers to plant a church in Slidell, LA

And the Cherpurnoys were upgrade to full-time church planter status working with Russian speaking people in Minneapolis, MN.
